Nina Dobrev d’origine Bulgare est née le 9 Janvier 1989 a Sofia. A l’age de deux ans, elle déménage au Canada et se fait naturalisée canadienne. Nina parle couramment le français ainsi que le bulgare. Très jeune, elle s’illustre dans le monde du sport en participant a des compétitions de gymnastique au niveau international. Mais c’est ensuite vers une carrière d’actrice qu’elle décide de se tourner.

En 2006, elle rejoint la série Degrassi: Nouvelle Génération et se fait connaitre du grand public avec son rôle de Mia Jones. Elle enchaine ensuite avec des petits rôle au cinéma dans Repo! The Genetic Opera (2006), Loin d’elle (2007) et How she move (2007). En 2008, elle obtient deux rôles principaux dans les films Never Cry Werewolf et dans The American Mall. Pour 2009, elle partage l’affiche dans Chloe avec de grands acteurs et Degrassi Goes Hollywood, adaptation cinématographique de la série sort en salles. En 2011, elle fait une apparition dans le film The Roommate au côté de jeunes talents comme Leighton Meester et Minka Kelly. Le film Arena sortira fin 2011, dans lequel Nina partage l’affiche avec Kellan Lutz. En 2012, Nina a un rôle dans le film très attendu The Perks of Being a Wallflower, au côté de Logan Lerman et Emma Watson. Cependant le rôle le plus important est celui d’ Elena dans la nouvelle série a succès The Vampire Diaries.…

En dehors des caméras, Nina aime pratiquer le sport (natation, planche a voile, plongée sous-marine, volley, snowboard, yoga…). Elle voyage également beaucoup en Europe et dans son pays natale, la Bulgarie.


Nina Dobrev (Nina Konstantinova Dobreva) was born on January 9, 1989 in Bulgaria. Dobrev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and moved to Canada at the age of two, where she was raised in Toronto, Ontario. She speaks fluent French, English, and Bulgarian. Her mother is an artist, and her father is a computer scientist. She has one older brother. She attended J. B. Tyrrell Sr. Public School and Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Scarborough, Ontario. From a very young age, she showed great enthusiasm and talent for the arts—dance, gymnastics, theater, music, visual arts, and acting. Dobrev attended the Dean Armstrong Acting school where she was discovered by many different talent agencies in Toronto!Dobrev attended Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Toronto until her graduating year. She entered secondary studies at Ryerson University in Toronto, majoring in sociology, before dropping out in 2008 to pursue her acting career.

Modeling jobs led to commercials, which then turned into film auditions. Shortly thereafter, she booked roles in feature films, including Fugitive Pieces, Away from Her, Never Cry Werewolf, and the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. She starred in a number of Lifetime original movies. She also was in an MTV movie called The American Mall on CTV. She is currently starring in The CW’s drama The Vampire Diaries, playing the dual role of Katherine Pierce, a vampire that the same brothers each loved while they were still human during the American Civil War, and Katherine’s doppelgänger Elena Gilbert, a human who is caught between the same two vampire brothers.

She also had a minor role in the erotic thriller Chloe, theatrically released by Sony Pictures Classics on March 26, 2010.[3] The film grossed $3 million in the United States theatrically and became one of the higher-grossing specialty films in the United States in 2010[3] (according to Variety, “$3 million is the new $10 million” for specialty films’ box office in 2010).

In April 2011, she was cast as Candace in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, alongside Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Paul Rudd.Shooting has begun in May of that year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
